Dr. Sconzo has been in practice for 32 years in the Marine Park area. A graduate of Tufts University School of Dentistry with a D.M.D. degree; he is licensed to practice in both New York and New Jersey. The doctor completed a general practice residency at Kings County Hospital. Dr. Sconzo has been on staff at New York Methodist Hospital since 1983 and is presently Chief of the Division of Dental Medicine and chief of the dental implant section. He is a former faculty member at New York University School of Dentistry for the postgraduate implant department. The doctor is a Board member for the Second District Dental Society, as well as a member of their Oral Health Committee and Peer Review Committee. He is a member of the New York State Dental Association and is presently serving as a delegate. Dr. Sconzo is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the Long Island Academy of Odontology, the Pierre Fauchard Society and International College of Dentists.
In addition, Dr. Sconzo keeps updated by participation in ongoing continuing education in other specialties of Dentistry. He serves the community by speaking to children, adults, and senior citizens about preventive dentistry.
Dr. Joseph Turchiano joined the team at Sconzo & Sconzo, D.M.D., P.C. in the fall of 2016. Originally from Long Island, Dr, Turchiano earned his undergraduate degree at Fordham University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at SUNY Stonybrook. After dental school, he completed his residency training at New York Methodist Hospital under the guidance of the attending staff, including Dr. Sconzo. Dr. Turchiano continues his training as Chief Resident and advancing his knowledge of dental medicine as a member of the American Dental Association and the Second District Dental Society.
